Frequently Asked Questions

Does Rock-on-a-Roll come in various sizes?

Rock-on-a-Roll is sold only as a 3' by 9' sheet as of this time.  However, if you need something larger we may be able to custom make a piece for an additional charge.  If this something you are interested in, please contact us.

Does Rock-on-a-Roll come in various colors?

Rock-on-a-Roll has a fair amount of color variation within a sheet - as does natural stone.  It is a neutral brown with various other tones, both light and dark.  We have found this  to work very well in a wide variety of circumstances, and this is normally the only way we sell it.  However, if this does not suit your purpose, we may be able to custom make some for you that will meet your needs.  If this something you are interested in, please contact us.

How does Rock-on-a-Roll stand up over time?

Rock-on-a-Roll was developed over 15 years ago for use in our clients ponds.  It has held up very well over that time.  It is not affected by immersion in water, UV radiation or freezing temperatures.  We have found that with time, moss may grow over it, making it look even more natural.

How do I adhere the rock-on-a-Roll to the ponds sides

It is not usually necessary to adhere Rock-on-a-Roll to your liner.  It should be held in place with a few stones along the top and bottom, as it may otherwise float.  If there is a circustance that requires adhereing it to rubber liner, we recommend using a roofing contact adhesive that is designed for bonding EPDM to masonry (available at any roofing supply store).  It can be adhered to many other substrates using an ordinary contact adhesive found at building supply stores.

Can Rock-on-a-Roll be used in place of a liner?

No!  Rock-on-a-Roll is not intended to replace a liner.  It is simply a covering that goes over the liner, replacing much of the stone you would otherwise need.

How do I seam Rock-on-a-Roll

Typically there is not a need to seam the sheets together.  Simply place a few stones where two sheets meet, and that's all there is to it.
